N-(2,6-Dichlorophenyl)isatin can be obtained from 2,6-Dichloroiodobenzene (D434690) which is a reactant in the synthesis of 3-(phenoxy-phenyl-methyl)-pyrrolidines as potent and balanced norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Also an impurity of Diclofenac (D436465).
