5-Bromo-2-chlorobenzonitrile is an organic reagent used in the preparation of novel thiazolidin-4-ones as HIV-1 fusion inhibitors targetting gp41. Also used in the synthesis of diazinones as P2 replacements for pyrazole-based cathespin S inhibitors.
