(3-Methoxyphenyl)acetaldehyde is used as a reagent in the synthesis of isoindoline-1,3-diones and 2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-diones as novel B-Raf inhibitors. Also used in the preparation of fluorophenyl-containing piperidine carboxamides as novel antihypertensive agents.
