(11bR)-(–)-4,4-Dibutyl-4,5-dihydro-2,6-bis(3,4,5-trifluorophenyl)-3H-dinaphth[2,1-c:1′,2′-e]azepinium Bromide is widely used as a catalyst in synthetic preparations. It is used as phase-transfer catalyst in monoalkylation of glycinate Schiff base using alkyl halides. It is also used in stereoselective preparation of amino acids derivatives using enantioselective substitution of imino esters with arene chromium complexes.
