3-Chloro-4-(trifluoromethoxy)benzaldehyde is used to synthesize dibenzylamines via reductive aminations of aldehydes and amines and Suzuki-Miyaura couplings as possible allosteric modulators of calcium-sensing receptors. It is also used to prepare antitubercular nitroimidazoles.
