4,5-Dicyanoimidazole is commonly used in activation of nucleoside phosphoramidites during solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, and synthesis of nucleoside phosphoramidites, synthesis of novel nucleosides. IT is often used as an alternative to Tetrazole (T307500).
