Fluoroacetic Acid can be used to study effects of fluoroacetate on glucose metabolism in the perfused rat heart. It can also be used to study inhibition of mixed-function oxidation in perfused rat liver by fluoroacetate treatment as fluoroacetate salts can inhibit the citric acid cycle.
