Bromopentacarbonylrhenium(I) is a brominated ligand used in the preparation of rhenium tricarbonyl bromide salicylaldehyde semicarbazone complexes with anti-trypanosomal property. Bromopentacarbonylrhenium(I) is also used in the preparation of complexes, like in the development of 99mTc(CO)3-labeled fluoroquinolones as novel SPECT radiopharmaceutical for imaging bacterial infection
