Diisobutylaluminum Hydride Solution (1.0M in Methylene Chloride) is a useful reducing agent in organic synthesis. Some reductions for which it is used includes conversion of esters to aldehydes and reductive acetylation of acyclic esters to alpha-acetoxy ethers. It was used in a continuous flow reduction for coupling reaction synthesis of eribulin mesylate which is an anticancer drug.
