Butyl Acrylate is one of the monomers used in the synthesis of a polyacrylate emulsion thickening agent synthesized by emulsion polymerization. Butyl Acrylate is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of new bis(acyl)phosphane oxide photoinitiators for surface functionalization of cellulose nanocrystals.
